1. Overview
GGLS is a business intelligence strategy game. Your main
objective is to build private intelligence organization (agency).
Your agency consists of: Director
(you), Agency Stations ( established around the world to give you
various information and make profit) and Agency Units (Escort
Units that travel with president; Station Units which protect
agency stations) .
Generally, your basic task is to travel around the world, trade
weapons, information, technology and mercenaries), hire units for
agency protection and establish agency stations.
The world isn't a peaceful place. Countries can have various
status: war, political instability, civil war, cold war and
sanctions. This is not bad for intelligence business, and you
should consider country political situation in order to find best
place to trade goods and hire spies, lawyers and combat units.
Naturally, intelligence business is not so popular in some
countries. Map View Button "Company Status" can give
you some information regarding country hospitality (which can be
Ally, Neutral and State Enemy). Expect you won't be welcome in
states where your company status is "State Enemy".
Your basic transportation will be cargo plane(planes). Director,
your escort units and your cargo load are placed in cargo plane
(all escort units except airplane units; they fly beside your
cargo planes as an air protection).
So you must be careful in choosing your escort agency units and
your goods in order to comply with free cargo space in your cargo
plane. Free cargo space can be increased by buying additional
cargo planes.
Time is important factor. Flight from country to country takes
time. Your flight speed will be the speed of your SLOWEST cargo
plane.
For less successful intelligence businessmen there is always an
alternative: robbing the banks. Don't except that country where
your action takes place loves that type of action; your agency
status there will be decreased.
2. Game
Missions
Each game mission has different parameters:
2.1. Mission objective (goal)
In each mission you have to accomplish some task
(objective). If you do this in a given time-frame, you'll be the
winner.
Type of mission objectives:
| Mission objective | Description | Note: | |
| 2.1.1. | Make Profit | Make maximum profit in N days | |
| 2.1.2. | Quick Profit | Make profit of x.xxx.xxx $ as soon as possible | No time-frame |
| 2.1.3. | Find and Destroy | Eliminate enemy group X in N days. | |
| 2.1.4. | Find and Rescue | Find and rescue X in N days |
* N - Number of days
**X - person or enemy group
***x.xxx.xxx $ - amount
of money defined by mission.
2.1.1. Make
Profit
Your task is to earn
as much money as you can, in a given number of days. Game ends at
the midnight of day N.
Be aware that program counts YOUR PROFIT, not cash. (See 7.6.
Profit)
2.1.2. Quick
Profit
You must make PROFIT
of x.xxx.xxx $ as fast as you can. In this mission type you are
not limited by time. Game ends when your profit reaches x.xxx.xxx
$. Game score will be based on time you've spent. Less time -
better score.
2.1.3. Find
and Destroy
Mission
objective is to find and eliminate human target in a given number
of days. Usually, the target is a criminal or agent, who travels
from country to country around the world (or particular
continent), together with his escort units.
You will travel from country to country in hope to meet the
target. On your way, you can trade goods, buy new units and
establish agency stations.
When you land in the country where target is currently located,
combat screen will appear, and you'll get a chance to confront
the target and his escort.
Your agency will be of great importance in this type of mission
because stations have 2 major functions:
Station Intelligence Function:
- Stations will INFORM you if the target enters into country
( where your station is).
- Depot and Base Station types have ability to track target
movement in the neighborhood countries too. (For
example, your agency base in USA will inform you if target
enters/exits Mexico or Canada)
- All these information (enemy movement - if any) you'll see at
the bottom of the End of Day Report.
Station Combat Function
- Your station units automatically attack the enemy target,
if target enters into country (country where station is located).
- This is why is so important to wisely manage your forces
between your escort and your station units.
2.1.4. Find
and Rescue
This mission
type is very similar to previous mission type (find and destroy).
Enemy group with hostage travels around the world and your task
is to find them.
Major difference is that you are here trying to rescue (not eliminate) some person (target) who is been kidnapped by enemy group. So, when finally found and attack enemy group, your task is to eliminate all units in that group and to reach target. When you manage to reach the target, you'll be the winner.
2.2. Time
Mission objective must be accomplished within some time
frame (except "Quick profit" mission type, where you
have unlimited time till you reach given profit.
2.3. Initial
Cash
In each mission you'll get some amount of US$, just for
easy start.
2.4. Initial Agency Units
At the mission start, you already have some agency units
for protection and attack. You will also have one or more cargo
planes. As an agency director, you, your forces and your trade
goods will travel around the world in these cargo planes. Your
flight speed will be the speed of your SLOWEST cargo plane.
2.5. Initial Agency Stations
Initially you'll have a agency stations in some
countries. Agency Station makes profit for you every day, informs
about prices in country and refers about movement of a enemy
groups.
3. MAIN (MAP) SCREEN
Map screen is games main screen. This is your command center
where you plan and execute travels around the world. It can be
displayed as a world or a continent map mode.

3.1. Map Legend
When map is in "Normal" or "Detail"
mode, it displays a political status of each country:
| Country Status | Description | |
| - Normal | Peace in country | |
| - Disorder | Political disorder in country | |
| - Civil War | Civil war in country | |
| - Sanctions | Country is under sanctions performed by some major country | |
| - Cold War | Tension between two countries | |
| - War | War between two countries |
When map is in "My Status" mode, it displays agency
status in country:
| Agency Status in country | Description | |
| - State Enemy | You are not welcome in this country. Country will try to stop you entering by air, army or urban attacks. Your agency station in this country will be attacked also. | |
| - Neutral | Sometimes, country will deny you to enter its territory | |
| - Ally | Generally, you are welcome in this country. |
3.2. Map Modes
- Normal
- Detail (only in continent map view)
- My Status
3.3. Agency Stations
White star on blue field represents your agency station.
In an example above, you have agency stations in Sweden and
Spain.
3.4. Country Status
Each country has 3 attributes :
- Country level
- Country Political status
- Your agency status in country
3.5. Marker (yellow circle)
Marker represents your current location.
3.6. Current Country Attributes
3.7. Agency Units Label
Here you can see your escort agency units (escort units
are your units that travel with you). Another type of units are
station units; these units are located in agency stations. You
can reach them by visiting your stations.
3.8. Main Buttons
- Country Market Button
- Establish Station Button (or Visit Station Button if you
already have station in country)
- View all Agency Stations button
- View Agency Forces button
- Rob The Bank button
3.9.
Free Cargo and Maximum Cargo Label
Maximum Cargo amount is capacity of your ALL cargo
planes. If you have 1 Boeing 737 plane, your maximum cargo will
be 10 Tons. If you have 3 Boeing 737 planes, maximum cargo will
be 3x10 T = 30 Tons.
Free Cargo amount represents free cargo space left in your cargo
planes AFTER loading goods youve bought, PLUS weight of
your escort units (because they travel with you), plus weight of
you as agency director.
Aircraft escort units dont count here because planes flight
along your cargo plane as protection.
3.10. Speed
Cruising speed (during your flight between countries)
will be the speed of your SLOWEST cargo plane. You can check
speed of your cargo plane(s) in Agency Forces Screen.
4. Units
Every country market offers goods (information, technology,
weapons, mercenaries ) for sale. You can BUY these items and
later sale them in another country, or you can hire mercenaries
and buy weapons as a agency units ( BUY FOR AGENCY FORCES Button)
When you buy for agency forces, the acquired unit automatically
becomes your escort unit (which means that unit travels with
you).
You can later transfer escort unit to the agency station. Unit
stays in station and becomes station unit, frees some cargo space
and protects station against possible attacks.
Each unit has the following attributes:

4.2. Unit Strength
Strength represents units power in attack and
defense (during combat).
Combat result between 2 units depends of
- strength of attacking unit
- strength of defending unit
- experience of both units
Depending of the combat type, unit will use appropriate strength
type.
Typical unit has 3 strength values: Army, Urban and Air strength.

Unit is destroyed in combat when its strength FOR THAT
COMBAT TYPE falls to 0.
For example: F-16C Falcon Fighter (with army strength 6, urban
strength 4 and air strength 10) during urban fight will use its
urban strength 4.
If its urban strength decreases to 0 during fight, Falcon will be
destroyed (no matter that his army strength (6) and air strength
(10) remains intact).
Untypical unit types are Lawyer and Secretary types.
Lawyer unit has legal strength
Secretary unit has convert strength, which means unit
can convert enemy units ( See Conversion )
![]() |
![]() |
4.3. Unit Experience
During combat, unit gets experience points. More
experienced unit will attack, defend (and convert) better.
Experience value can be between 0 (new unit) and 100. For every
20 experience points unit gets one officer rank.
5. Combat
Combat takes place in Combat screen.
At the beginning of combat, you have 9 sites (blue fields) on the
left side. There you can deploy your units.
You choose your units from deploy sector (lower left corner).

5.1. Deploying units from deploy zone to the
combat field
First, you must decide which units will take part in
combat. Your units available for combat are in the deploy window.
Units available for combat are:
- Units with strength greater than zero for current combat type*.
- Escort Units, when combat IS NOT in company station OR
- Station Units, when combat IS IN company station.
* For example, in urban combat, Lawyer Unit won't be in Deploy
Zone because his urban strength is 0.
This rule doesn't apply for Secretary units. Secretary's Convert
Strength is valid for urban, legal and army combat.
5.2. Type of combat
- Legal (white)
- Urban (gray)
- Army (green)
- Air (blue)
Each unit type has different combat strengths. In according to
combat type, unit will show appropriate strength value.
5.3. Unit Strength in Combat
Combat result between 2 units depends of
units strength and strength of attacked enemy unit (and
experience of both units).
Example: soldier from picture above will have (during
the combat) strength 2, because his urban strength is 2. In a
case of army combat, he'll have strength of 3. (his army strength
is 3)
5.4. Combat Movement
Only units in a first column of a frontline (fields
closest to enemy) move and attack enemy. So, front line unit is
unit most closed to the enemy.
On each turn, front line unit automatically moves 1 field in the
direction of enemy. (players unit try to move left, PC unit
tries to move right)
If enemy is destroyed (or retreats), unit moves to the next
field, and field becomes friendly controlled (blue square).
Same thing happens if there is no enemy unit in your direction:
your unit will move and occupy the empty field.
Units behind frontline stay inactive. You can rotate or move them
to the frontline before any combat turn.
Player can move his units only between his own blue fields.
Unit is destroyed when its strength FOR THIS COMBAT TYPE is 0.
Also, unit can be converted. See (5.7) Conversion .
Depending of combat type, units involved in
combat have appropriate strength value. (for example, F-16C
Falcon, with strength 2 (urban) 5 (army) 12 (air), during army
combat will have strength of 5. )
5.5. Combat Target
Combat targets are positioned in left (you) and right
(enemy) side of the screen. Combat victory will be yours if you
destroy enemy target in 10 turns.
Bad news: if enemy reaches you, you'll be dead. If combat takes
place in your agency station, station will be destroyed.
5.6. Combat Turn
Combat lasts 10 turns. If any side (you and enemy)
destroys the opposite target, combat ends. After 10 turns, combat
is finished with no consequence.
5.7. Conversion
Secretary unit has conversion strength, which means this
unit can convert enemy units.
Secretary units don't have army or urban
strength, but during army or urban combat, secretary unit
uses its conversion strength. So conversion strength replaces
army or urban strength.
Conversion cant be done during air combat .
Success of conversion depends of units conversion strength
and strength of attacked enemy unit (and experience of both
units).
Converted Enemy unit become your company unit. If new converted
unit is too heavy for your available cargo capacity, it will be
sold automatically. ( example: during combat, youve
converted enemy BRM-80 heavy vehicle. This units weights 12 tons,
and your agency forces have only 1 cargo plane with 10 Tons free
cargo space. BRM-80 cant be loaded in your cargo plane,
thus itll be sold after end of the combat; money naturally
goes to you)
Same thing will happen during combat in your agency station. If
your agency station hasnt free space for converted enemy
unit, unit will be sold.
6. Country Market Screen (Buy and Sell)
The major fact regarding buying weapons is that you can buy an item (weapon) as a trade good (and latter sell it elsewhere), or you can buy that same weapon for agency forces (then, weapon become Agency Unit and serves for your protection)
6.1. Country
Market Window
- Shows items you can buy in this country

6.2. Item Rank
(0* - 3*)
Rank represents quality or technical level of an item
(weapon, technology or human). Old weapons have zero star rank,
while high-tech items have 3 star rank ( AH-64 Apache helicopter
for example). Better the rank, higher the weapons price and
strength.
Rich countries (with high country level) want high rank goods.
Poor countries prefer cheaper, low rank items.
6.3. Price
Each item costs money. Price depends of:
A - Country political situation (for example, country in war will
pay high price for tanks & planes)
B - Country Level - (for example, powerful countries will pay
higher price for hi-tech weapons)
C - Item origin (If item is manufactured in this country, price
will be lower)
6.4. Weight
Items weight in Tons or Kilograms
Small arms are packed in 100-items boxes.
For cargo planes, Weight field shows CARGO LOAD CAPACITY. For
example, Boeing 777 has 34 Tons cargo capacity.
6.5. Currently
marked item attributes
6.6. Cargo Load Window
There you can see what goods you have in your cargo
plane (planes). Cargo load window displays items you buy / have
in your cargo planes.
Paid column displays price you've paid for an item.
Offers column displays price you can get in current
country
6.7. World Market Window
World Market Window shows prices for marked item in
other countries (only in countries where you have agency STATION)
In an example from picture above, selected item F-111 Bomber can
be sold in Israel for 8.925.840$;
profit per sale in Israel is 3.303.720$
Oman is poor country and it is not interested in 2 star rank
F-111.
6.8. Buy (Buy 5) Button
You can buy marked item from current country. Item will
be placed in your cargo planes, decreasing your free cargo
capacity, and later can be sold in another country (for
preferably higher price).
With "Buy 5" Button you'll buy 5
selected items at once.
6.9. Buy
for Agency Forces Button
Besides buying item for later sale, also
you can buy it for your own usage: as a agency unit.
Agency units also occupy free cargo space, except airplane units.
7. Statistics Screen
Statistics screen contains
information regarding your mission objective, mission time and
current financial data from your agency.

7.1. IAC
- Initial Agency Capital
At the beginning of each mission, you initially have
some agency units, cash and already established agency stations.
Sum of all these initial assets is IAC - Initial Agency Capital:
IAC = Initial Cash + Value of initial Agency Units + Value of
initial Agency Stations
7.2. Agency Cash
Amount of cash (in US$) you currently have.
7.3. Agency
Cargo Value
Value of goods you have in your cargo planes.
7.4. Agency
Stations Value
Value of all agency stations you currently have around
the world.
7.5. Agency
Units Value
Value of all agency units (both escort and station
units) you currently have.
7.6. Profit
Profit shows how much money you've actually made during
game. Profit is a sum of all current agency assets minus IAC
- Initial Agency Capital:
Profit =
Cash + Cargo value + Stations value + units value - Initial Agency Capital
